7 Most Cold Cities in Indonesia, Even the Lowest Temparature is 9 degrees Celcius

What comes on your mind when you heard about Indonesia weather?
Perhaps, most of you think that it is hot. Because Indonesia has a tropical climate and only have 2 seasons which are rainy and dry season. It is hard to believe that Indonesia has several cities which have cold weather. Don't you believe it? Lets check this out !

1. Bandung (Ciwidey and Lembang Area)

Bandung is well-known by foreigners as a tourist city for panorama, culinary, and good quality products from factory outlets stores. Then, another experience when the first time the tourist come, is the cold weather. Surrounded by many mountains and craters, this city offers a lot of panorama that you will not see in other cities in Indonesia commonly. The places must be in your bucket list are White Crater (Ciwidey Area), Ciwidey Natural Hot Spring, Tangkuban Perahu Mountain (Lembang Area), Farm House (Lembang Area), and Floating Market (Lembang Area). That makes Bandung always has the lowest temparature is 22 degrees celsius, then the highest temperature is 31 degress celcius.  

2. Batu City, East Java Province

Located in East Java Province, this city has height approx. 1200 meters and the normal temperature is 17-27 degrees Celcius. Batu City is well-known for Education and Agro Tourism. Batu Secret Zoo, Jatim Park 3, Museum Angkut (Transport Museum), and Batu Night Spectacular must be in your bucket list. So, you are not only enjoying the cold weather, but also the tourist attraction. That will be memorable experience !

3. Berastagi, North Sumatera Province

Berastagi or Brastagi (In Dutch Language) means 'rice store'. Located in North Sumatera Area, this city has height approx. 1300 meters above sea level. The main economic activities in Berastagi centers on the colorful fruit and vegetable market, as well as tourism. The places must be in your bucket list is Mount Sibayak and Mount Sinabung, these mountains can be climbed in one day, but a guide is neccesary. The temperature here is about 16-22 degrees Celcius. It is really cold for tropical country, don't you think ?

4. Gayo Lues, Aceh Province

This area is well-known as land of a thousand-hills, it is because surrounded by beautiful green hills. Gayo Lues means 'broad mountain' in local language. Not many tourists know this place, so if you like to explore hidden Indonesia, here is that place. The places must be in your bucket list are Genting Tree House, Blue Rerebe Waterfall,  Gunung Leuser National Park (to see endangered animals such as Sumatran Orangutans, Sumatran Rhinoceros, Sumatran Tigers, Sumatran Elephants, and Sun Bears). The temperature here approx. 20-31 degrees celcius.

5. Ruteng, East Nusa Tenggara Province

Another location is hidden place in Indonesia is Ruteng City. This city offers a lot of scenery that you may not see in another place such as traditional small village of Wae Rebo (Cultural Heritage World by UNESCO 2012), Liang Bua Cave, and Lodok Cancar Rice Fields which has the shaped like spider web, if you see from above. The temperature here is approx. 11-26 degrees Celcius.

6. Mamasa, West Sulawesi

Located nearby Toraja City, Sulawesi Province. Mamasa City is a bit far from urban area. This city has attraction for the land above the clouds in Buntu Liarra. Also, the places must be in your bucket list are Liawan Waterfall which has height 100 m and 8 levels, Mountain Mambuliling which is the icon of Mamasa, and the highest Mother Maria Statue in South-East Asia. The temperature here is 17-28 degrees Celcius.

7. Mulia City, Jayawijaya Mountains

Last but not least,if you think other 6 cities above is not cold enough, here is it. This is the most cold city in Indonesia. Located in the most cold mountain in Indonesia which is called Jayawijaya Mountains, this city has height above 2.448 meters above sea levels. The intensity of rainfall is very high through out the years. At sunny day, the temperature is about 15 degrees Celcius then at night could be 9 degrees Celcius. Wow, it is almost like autumn season in Japan for tropical country!
