Have you ever visit Bali in Indonesia? Maybe most of you have visited this island once or more. But, did you know that Bali has a lot of islands nearby. One of them is Nusa Penida which is located at south-east of Bali. Other 2 islands at the same location are Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Ceningan. Between 3 islands, Nusa Penida is the furthest and largest island.
To reach Nusa Penida, you have to take fastboat from Sanur Beach which takes 30-40 minutes to arrive at Toyapakeh Harbour in Nusa Penida. I suggest you to to bring a shirt and trouser more than one because maybe your pants will get wet when you are in fastboat.
Here's the best spot that I recommend you must visit :
1. Broken Beach (Pasir Uug)
Local people known this beach with a name 'pasir uug' means broken beach. This place is located at Bunga Mekar Village. The main point view you will see the cliff make a form like tunnel or big hole has looks broken, and if you see from above side that hole looks like a bridge. This place is most favourite tourist photostop with the combination of blue ocean. When you see to water, you can watch the blue expanse of water also see a large number of stingrays swimming in the ocean.
Angels Billabong is the river mouth that ends in the sea. There is a rock crush which forms a longitudinal pond at the and of the estuary. To get there, you have to go down at steep rock cliff. But, once you have arrived you will enjoy the freshness of clear greenish-blue ocean, even the part of it, there's green moss grows above the reefs.
To take a picture in the best spot here, make sure you have to wait the at low tide position to go down even swimming. Because the wave is enough dangerous when the sea just rising. This place located in Sakti Village, nearby Broken Beach. You can visit at same day. Ask the local people if you get lost.
This beach is famous with the name T-Rex Beach because the shape of cliffs jutting on the sea is thought resemble a dinosaurus. This place could be put on your list if you are a lover of challenges. Because this place located below the cliff, so that for access is a bit difficult to be reached. But the tourist can enjoy the views from the top of cliff.
The view of white sand that adorns the sea and waves of the sea that directly hit the cliffs around beach. If you want to capture the moment in here, you must be careful to stand above high cliff which has no fences. If you want to reach the shoreline, it will take a time an hour plus you have to going down from cliff approxiamately 150 meter. The road access still not good due to still natural rather steep which made from limestone as you can see in the picture, but it is safe and it will not be slippery after rain.
Make sure you have a good physical strength to pass the road. The water is clear like crystal. This place very recommended to do snorkeling and diving.
Wow ! Look at this Beach, very clear as crystal ! Pack your things as soon as possible to reach this place. In this beach you will enjoy the white sand combine with turqouise , wow its very beautiful ! Above the sea, you can see the wooden boats floated and swayed above waves.
Here you can see most people spend their time to play football on white sand, do sunbathing, or sitting to see the waves and waiting for the sunset.
Giri Putri Cave (Goa Giri Putri) is located in Suana Village. Inside this cave there is a temple that are often used by local people to do worship. Besides that, this cave has length approximately 262 meter is a home for bats. The land here is stalactite and stalagmite.
Beacuse the main attraction of this place is to do worship, local people believes that the water flow inside the cave is a holy water. There are 4 offering spots to God inside the cave. One spot located in front of cave, the other 3 are located in the center of the cave.
6. Seganing Water Spring
If you want to enjoy another sea view apart from the beach. This place also could be on you list that must be visited. Seganing Water Spring is located in Sebuluh Area, Cacah Village. Just nearby Toyapakeh Harbour. But, the challenge to reach this place, you have to walk through slippery and steep road around 30 minutes. But once you have arrived, it just paid off because you can see clear water flows from the cliffs to the sea.
Then there are a number of niches resembling ponds that you can access when you are there. If you do not want to touch the water, the beautiful view here will be fulfill your eyes and heart needs especially for the clear blue water.
7. Manta Point
A divers with Manta Stingrays Fish
Last but not the least. If you only have one day in Nusa Penida , this place cannot be missed. This is the most authentic and unique from Nusa Penida. Manta Point is the place where Manta Fish live inside the sea. Manta is the biggest stingrays in the world. Manta Point is one of the diving spot which located in Kelingking Beach.
Manta Point is a limestone which that surfaced in Tanjung Panjang, near the end of West Nusa Penida. The landscape view is very enchanting, with steep limestone cliffs which is formed by impact of big waves to coast all year round. The difficulties that could be faced when you do the diving is a strong waves from Indian Ocean towards beach.
Manta Point is very unique tourist place here besides because they have Manta stingrays fish all year round. This sea has a lost of plankton, which attracts many seabirds to come find their food here. You can do diving here to see Manta stingrays closely in their most calm-manner. Manta stingrays will do swim around you in a circular motion. It will capture the most unforgettable experience in your Nusa Penida Trip.
Manta stingrays are very friendly, often playing with calm-divers and not to chase it. They just swope to investigate and to shiver as their pleasure when the bubble from the divers tickle them. If you come at summer and get a luck you will see Mola-Mola Fish !
