In Central Java Province, it has traditional ceremonies still exist till today for community events such as wedding, thanksgiving, avoiding bad luck, etcetra. Normally, the ceremony carried out is personal to the common interest.

1. Wetonan (Wedalan) - Baby's Birth Ceremony
Kluban is the food which always served in Wedotan Ceremony as a thanksgiving for a variety good events especially in someone's birth. You will find a lot of local variety topping such as egg, fried chicken, potato cakes, noodle, hand-made chili sauce, etcetra.
2. Ruwatan Dreadlocks Ceremony
If you want to see this ceremony publicly, you will find in Arjuna Temple, Dieng Plateau, Wonosobo City. The purpose of Ruwatan Dreadlocks Ceremony is liberation or purification from Sin and Guilt.
This ceremony will be held, when there is a child who has dreadlocks in Dieng area. Because the residents believe that child regarded as a descendant of Green Hulk (Buto Ijo). So, as soon as possible that they shave the hair to survive from the distress, bad lucks, and disgrace. It is a release from his prayers and mistakes which are believed to bring bad luck in his life
3. Kebo-keboan Ceremony - Farmers' Pray
Through this ceremony, hopefully their plants can grow well and produce maximum yields. 30 people resembled buffaloes and would be paraded around the village. They will walk like a buffalo plowing field. Normally, this tradition is carried out by farmers before planting or harvesting.
4. Larung Sesaji
The purpose of this ceremony is a form of gratitude to God for the fish they have caught in the sea. Then, begging for safety and sufficient results in business.
This routine ceremony tradition is charaterized by various foodstuffs and slaughtered animals which are washed into the sea. It will be carried out at every Islamic New Year at 1st of the first month
5. Dugderan-Welcoming the holy month of Ramadhan
After the Dugderan procession, a parade around the city was completed, where people poured in traditional attire and presented various traditional Semarang Festivals aimed at welcoming the month of Ramadhan fasting in Semarang city.
6. Siraman - Bridal Shower Ceremony
After this ceremony has done, usually the bride will be carried by her father or her family for self-care for the 'sincerity handshake event' asking for blessing to the father and mother. So that the marriage will be run smoothly and full of blessing.
7. Nyandran
Nyandran (Earth Charity) Ceremony has the purpose to welcome the holy month of Ramadhan by the local people. But before the existence of Nyandran Ceremony was a tradition of Hindu-Buddhist religion. As the time went by, finally it could be accepted and practiced by the local people especially for Moslem.
Nyandran Ceremony is a local costumary which often carried out by its citizen by gathering and cleaning the village graves together. It is held annually in Ruwah Month. Ruwah or Nyandran Month is the eight month in a year. Ruwah or Nyandran are usually residents in droves to the ancestral tomb to give a prayer or generally called "Nyandran".
